Updated regularly, the news generating resource presents everything from project reviews to articles that bring new perspectives on industry trends, including insights on working with clients and best practice tips for hiring professional designers.
Earlier this month, principal Taeko Rhodes of Taeko Design wrote an article on her interior design collaboration on the Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre in Northwestern Ontario, working with architect Douglas Cardinal and Stantec. A healing environment that is illuminated with natural light through skylights, the centre is an eye-catching blend of First Nations culture; primordial element symbols, such as earth, fire, air and water; and palliative connections with the centre’s natural surroundings.

Search under Hospitality and you’ll find DesignAgency principal Allen Chen’s recent refresh of Victor, inside Hotel Le Germain’s Mercer Street location in Toronto. The restaurant offers three distinct spaces: an intimate bar-lounge, a modern café and a luxe restaurant. Chen’s addition of brassy elements adds a warm metallic glow to the lounge while marble counters and a fluted barista station heighten the luminosity of the café.
Posting to the blog is open to all Registered ARIDO members seeking to having their work featured or to share their insights on the latest in the interior design industry.
